Jennifer Howland is a Speech-Language Pathologist with 27 years of experience. Howland is currently a therapy team lead at AnMed Health Rehabilitation Hospital (an Encompass Health hospital). She has worked in nearly all settings in which speech-language pathologists are employed but has found particular enjoyment in the inpatient rehabilitation setting at Encompass Health.She is the FEES Preceptor in the company’s South Atlantic region, facilitates a regional speech-language-pathology mentoring group and facilitates Encompass Health’s subject matter expert team for speech-language pathologists. Howland has a passion for providing quality care to her patients and enjoys mentoring and leadership to share her knowledge with students and other clinicians.
Education/Training: Howland received her undergraduate degree from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan and her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.
Professional Associations/Affiliations: Howland is a longstanding member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
Certifications: Howland is certified in LSVT and Vital Stim. She has extensive experience with performing FEES and is the Preceptor for FEES in her region, assisting other hospitals with starting their in-house FEES programs.
Personal: Howland enjoys hiking, backpacking and boating on the beautiful lakes of South Carolina, where she currently resides with her husband, two children and three dogs.
