Jennifer Howland is a Speech-Language Pathologist with close to 30 years of experience. She has worked in nearly all settings in which SLP’s are employed including, inpatient acute and rehabilitation, outpatient, SNF, Home Health and the school system. Howland is currently a therapy team lead at AnMed Health Rehabilitation Hospital (an Encompass Health hospital).
She has worked in nearly all settings in which speech-language pathologists are employed but has found particular enjoyment in the inpatient rehabilitation setting at Encompass Health. Howland serves on Encompass Health’s subject matter expert team for speech-language pathologists. She has a passion for providing quality care to her patients and enjoys mentoring and leadership to share her knowledge with other clinicians. She is a regular contributor to AnMed Health Rehabilitation Hospital’s newsletter.
Education/Training: Howland received her undergraduate degree from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI and her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.
Professional Associations/Affiliations: Howland is a longstanding member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
Certifications: Howland is certified in LSVT, Vital Stim. She has extensive experience with performing FEES and assisted with a recent Susan Langmore study quantifying residue following the swallow on FEES.
Personal: Howland enjoys hiking, backpacking and boating on the beautiful lakes of South Carolina where she currently resides with her husband and three dogs.
