Greg D. Carmichael

Mr. Carmichael has served as executive chair of the board of directors of City National Bank since Oct. 2, 2023. Mr. Carmichael retired as the executive chairman of Fifth Third Bancorp in April 2023. He joined Fifth Third in June 2003 as executive vice president and chief information officer. After being named chief operating officer in 2006, he became president in 2012. He was appointed to Fifth Third’s board of directors and became CEO in 2015 and was elected chairman of the board in 2018. In July 2022 Mr. Carmichael stepped down as CEO and became executive chairman of Fifth Third Bancorp. From 2000 to 2003, Mr. Carmichael was vice president and chief information officer for Emerson Electric, a worldwide provider of technology and energy solutions. From 1996 to 2000, he served in the same roles for a subsidiary of Emerson, and from 1986 to 1996, he served in several information technology and leadership roles at General Electric.
