Brooke Follett is a senior occupational therapist at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Pearland. Follett began her career with Encompass Health in 2016 as a rehabilitation tech as she worked her way through occupational therapy school. When she graduated in 2019, she joined the Pearland team as an occupational therapist.
Follett was first determined to be an occupational therapist in high school after discovering occupational therapy through a friend who specialized in pediatrics. While her original interests were in pediatric settings, after Follett joined Encompass Health, she developed a passion for the inpatient rehabilitation setting and never looked back.
In her role as an occupational therapist, Follett is dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life of her patients and for a successful return to their homes and families. Follett was awarded the Encompass Health Employee of the Year for the Southwest Region in 2020, which demonstrates her dedication to her career, as well as her patients.
Education: Follett graduated in 2016 from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Allied Health. She received her master’s in occupational therpay in 2019 from the University of St. Augustine-Austin. She completed her doctorate in occupational therapy and in 2023 from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
Professional Affiliations: Follett is her hospital’s STOP co-champion, co-leads the community’s stroke support group, assists to manage the hospital’s social media pages and is an active member of Encompass Health’s AOTA subject matter expert group.
Personal Note: When not with her patients, Follett enjoys spending her time at home with her dog, Goose, and her cat, Minette. She also enjoys going to concerts, traveling and visiting art museums around the world.
