According to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, nearly one million Americans are living with Parkinson’s disease. Encompass Health Deaconess Rehabilitation Hospital is raising awareness of Parkinson’s disease with a goal of educating the community about the early signs and symptoms. During an interview with WEHT-TV, Lauren Weil, Encompass Health’s Business Development Director, shared, “For these individuals, a medication regiment and exercise are two key components to help them decrease and ease their symptoms.” She adds that Encompass Health Deaconess Rehabilitation Hospital offers great resources for the community, including an exercise class on Wednesday afternoons that anyone can join – they need not be a patient. Pre-registration is not required for those who wish to attend the classes.
