Continuing our efforts now more than ever to create an inclusive and diverse workplace

Inclusion & Diversity Sustainability

digital man running forward

For the last three years, we have published our annual Inclusion & Diversity Report to chart both progress in our Company’s efforts in these areas, as well as to identify areas for improvement.

You will see in our 2019 report, that it was a year of strength for our Company’s I&D program

At Encompass Health, we want to ensure inclusion and diversity isn’t an afterthought, but that it’s infused into our day-to-day business practices. Over the past year, I&D subcommittees promoted new and ongoing efforts in the areas of workforce, patient experience, supplier diversity and community partnerships.

While we are proud of the advancements we have made since the formation of our I&D Council in 2008, recent events across the country have shown us we still have a long way to go in cultivating meaningful change to create more inclusive societies and workplaces.

In 2020, we are taking more steps to do just that. We recently started a video series featuring candid conversations about social injustices both in the community and in the workplace.

Personally, I have committed to advancing diversity and inclusion efforts in the workplace by signing the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion pledge. By signing this, we are pledging to continue to cultivate a workplace where diverse perspectives and experiences are welcomed and respected.

We have come a long way in the areas of inclusion and diversity as a Company, but we are not finished.

Further strengthening our foundation in 2020 and beyond will be an essential component in how we pursue Encompass Health’s ongoing strategic initiatives. It will take a collective commitment to I&D, where diversity makes us strong and inclusion lights the way forward.
