Encompass Health is expanding its footprint again in the state of Florida. Today, the Company announced plans to build a 50-bed rehabilitation hospital in Naples.
The announcement comes less than a two weeks after Encompass Health announced it would be building hospital in Clermont, Florida. The Company has a hospital under construction in north Tampa and plans to build in Pensacola, Lakeland and St. Augustine, as well.
To date, the Company has 12 existing hospitals and 19 home health locations in the Sunshine State.
“As we’ve operated other hospitals throughout the state for more than three decades, it’s exciting to see Florida grow and thrive and Naples in particular. With that growth comes increased need for healthcare services,” said Linda Wilder, president of Encompass Health’s southeast region. “This new, state-of-the-art inpatient rehabilitation hospital will augment the already strong healthcare delivery system in the area. We look forward to serving the community and becoming part of a well‑coordinated healthcare delivery network.”
Encompass Health has placed land under contract and plans to build a freestanding, 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in the city, which will be named Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Naples.
Complementing local acute care services, the hospital will care for patients recovering from debilitating illnesses and injuries including strokes and other neurological disorders, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions. The hospital will provide physical, occupational and speech therapies that aim to restore functional ability and quality of life and 24‑hour care by registered nurses, many of whom are certified in rehabilitation nursing.
The medical staff will include physicians experienced in physical medicine and rehabilitation as well as other specialties such as internal medicine, cardiology, infectious disease and nephrology.
“We are excited about the Encompass Health hospital coming to Collier County and providing exceptional medical services and high paying jobs in our community,” said Nick Casalanguida, deputy county manager for Collier County.
The hospital will feature all private patient rooms, a spacious therapy gym with advanced rehabilitation technologies and an activities of daily living suite, cafeteria, dining room, pharmacy and therapy courtyard.
The planned hospital, once open, will become part of Encompass Health’s national network of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and home health and hospice agencies.
