Miami-Dade Police Officer finally returning home after months in hospital following motorcycle accident

Last updated:

Miami-Dade Police Officer Mathew Marsh was finally able to return home after spending months in the hospital recovering from severe injuries he suffered in a head-in motorcycle collision while on duty in April. His family, therapists and fellow officers were at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Miami to cheer him on and offer support as he left the hospital. Officer Marsh was determined to walk out of the hospital on his own, and he said he’s thankful for his family, his fellow officers and the team of doctors and therapists who made it possible for him to finally go home. “Four months ago, I woke up after two and a half days of not knowing what had even happened, almost apparently losing my life, and in a bed where I was completely broken, and now I’m walking out of the [hospital] door.”
