For some time, Encompass Health has targeted opening four to six inpatient rehabilitation hospitals each year. We are well on our way to meeting that goal for 2020. The repeal of Florida’s inpatient rehabilitation facility (IRF) certificate of need law last year has opened doors for many additional growth opportunities in Florida.
Currently, the Company has 12 hospitals in Florida. Encompass Health previously announced plans to build new hospitals in North Tampa, Naples, Clermont, Pensacola, St. Augustine, Cape Coral, Lakeland and Jacksonville, and the Company is not finished. You can expect more announcements in the coming months.
