Recognizing the tremendous contributions veterans have made to our society, Encompass Health strives to support those transitioning from active duty to civilian life through employment opportunities.

In 2018, Encompass Health launched a new career website tool, Jobs for Veterans, in collaboration with Google and Jibe, to help veterans find jobs that closely align with their specific skills.

Military veteran Nayquawn Love of Plano, Texas, was one of its first candidates to make a match at Encompass Health.

Having held multiple jobs during his military career of 13 years, as well as serving as a personal trainer, Nayquawn’s experience led him toward a career that combined both interests. Then, while watching the Super Bowl, he caught a commercial highlighting Jobs for Veterans. It made him feel proud.

“Transitioning back to civilian life, a lot of us don’t know where to go,” Nayquawn said.

He stumbled across Jobs for Veterans in a Super Bowl commercial, which led him to a career at Encompass Health.

When visiting encompasshealth.com to access the Jobs for Veterans tool for potential jobs, Nayquawn input his military occupational codes. The site immediately pulled up listings for nursing positions that called for skills he’d developed during his military career. He knew he’d met his match.

Nayquawn now works in nursing for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Plano with a goal of earning a degree in physical therapy.

“It’s the best of both words,” Nayquawn said.
